I have worked for Graphic Chemical & Ink Company since 1968 - with a brief hiatus(almost 4 years) to travel the World courtesy of my uncle. Sadly it turns out it was my Uncle Sam, and I wasn't too thrilled about the places that he chose to send me. My wife and I have run Graphic Chemical for many years, and have enjoyed the travel that comes with the position. We get to meet our customers (and the occasional vendor) from all over the World

If you are interested, please contact Anchor directly.

Anchor Graphics @ Columbia College Chicago
Now Accepting Applications for our 2008 Artist-In-Residence

Each year, Anchor Graphics welcomes six Artists-In-Residence into our printshop for 2 to 3 week residencies. This program is offered to artists who are proficient in printmaking and who want an uninterrupted stretch of time to develop a body of print-based work.

Anchor will provide residents with unlimited access to the shop during building hours, the technical assistance of our Master Printers, and a stipend to assist with materials, travel and housing expenses. In exchange, resident artists are expected to work with Anchor's interns on the completion of their projects, interact with students in Columbia College’s printmaking classes, and present a lecture about their work to the general public.

This program is open to all experienced printmakers including those living in the Chicago area.

To become an Artist-In-Residence at Anchor Graphics please send:

  • 10 digital images on a CD (JPEG's preferred)
  • CV
  • artist's statement
  • a brief narrative about the project you will be working on during your residency

  • additional materials will not be reviewed and materials will not be returned
